Information for Health Care Personnel
According to state law, health care personnel are required to report every person over 15 years of age diagnosed as having a condition that could impair their ability to drive, with the exception of medical conditions expected to last less than 90 days. These reports are confidential and used solely to determine the qualification of the individual to safely operate a motor vehicle. PennDOT will NOT release information regarding the source or content of a report, even to the patient. Pennsylvania law also provides for immunity from civil and criminal liability for health care personnel when reporting a person to PennDOT.
