Title IA does still require parents to be notified if their child is being taught by a teacher that isn't appropriately state certified.
LEA level – Appropriately State Certified
The Local Education Agency (LEA) will ensure that all teachers working in a program supported with Title I funds meet applicable State certification and licensure requirements.

School level – Appropriately State Certified
The Local Education Agency (LEA) and the Title I School has professional standards for paraprofessionals working in a program supported with Title I.

- All instructional paraprofessionals working in a Title I program are appropriately certified.
- Parents (in Title I schools only) are directly notified annually that they may request information regarding the professional qualifications of their child's teacher(s), and of paraprofessionals who provide instructional services to their children.
- Parents (in Title I schools only) are notified if their child is assigned to or being taught for four or more consecutive weeks by a teacher who is not appropriately state certified. (This cannot be marked N/A.)
