On August 3, 2020, Governor Tom Wolf announced he is dedicating approximately $28 million to postsecondary institutions and adult basic education providers in Pennsylvania to assist them in implementing public health and safety plans and help them to resume operations in the fall. The funding will be used to help keep students, faculty, and staff safe and assist institutions in meeting the unique challenges of providing instruction during COVID-19. The Coronavirus Aid, Relief and Economic Security (CARES) Act authorizes governors to determine the educational use of Governor's Emergency Education Relief (GEER) Funds, which can be used towards the safe reopening of schools in light of COVID-19.
A list of schools and their disbursement amounts appears in the table below. Recipients will receive information from PDE on application instructions through eGrants.
NOTE: disbursement amounts were determined by using the U.S. Department of Education, NCES, IPEDS Fall 2018 12-month Enrollment Survey. The calculations included the share of total full-year headcount by sector and the share of Pell Grant recipients by institution.
