Rabbits range from 3 to 20 pounds depending on the breed. There are currently 52 breeds recognized by the American Rabbit Breeders Association. Each breed has different characteristics.

Rabbits have an average gestation period of 28-32 days! The term for rabbits giving birth is kindling and babies are referred to as kits. Around 10 days old kits will begin to open their eyes. Kits will then be weaned around 6 weeks of age.
