Species Management Plans

The Pennsylvania Fish and Boat Commission's Division of Fisheries Management in the Bureau of Fisheries surveys and monitors Pennsylvania's waterways to develop management plans for PA's fish species.

The Purpose of Species Management Plans

Species Management Plans aim to restore, maintain and/or enhance fishing opportunities through harvest and habitat management. Habitat management preserves and enhances essential habitats to maintain robust naturally sustained fish populations.

The plans also inform decisions to ensure effective and efficient use of PFBC hatcheries and stocking efforts.
