Originally constructed in 1968, the Oswayo State Fish Hatchery is situated on approximately 14 developed acres (1,250 total acres) of land owned by the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania and managed by the Fish and Boat Commission.

The facility has concrete raceways, an earthen pond, and a hatchery building that contains indoor early rearing and egg incubator units.
