Commissioner William C. Brock represents the Third District of the Pennsylvania Fish and Boat Commission (Cameron, Centre, Clearfield, Clinton, Elk, Jefferson, McKean, and Potter Counties). He was first appointed in July 2017 and reappointed to a second four-year term in January of 2022.
Born and raised in St. Marys, PA, Commissioner Brock earned a B.A. in Liberal Arts/Economics from St. Vincent College in 1987 and an MPA in Public Management and Policy from the University of Pittsburgh in 1992. His experience includes working as a Project Manager and Analyst for the McDowell Group, a Juneau, Alaska based economic research and consulting firm and as the Executive Director of the CPWDC, a nonprofit corporation, located in Lewisburg, PA that provided strategic workforce and economic development initiatives throughout a 9-county region.
In 2008 Commissioner Brock assumed the role of COO for Straub Brewery, Inc. in St. Marys PA and was named the President and CEO in 2009, a role in which he continues to serve. Straub is the third oldest family-owned brewery in the US and was founded by his Great Great-Grandfather in 1872.
Throughout his career Commissioner Brock has participated as board member or advisor for many local, regional, statewide and national initiatives with government agencies, trade associations and economic development organizations. Commissioner Brock recently served as past Chair of the PA Malt and Brewed Beverage Industry Promotion Board and the Industrial Resource Center Foundation Board.
Brock is a life-long angler and lives with his wife Kate in St. Marys. He has two children – Hannah and William.
