Kahle Lake

Located on the border of Clarion and Venango countiesKahle Lake is a 251-acre impoundment owned by the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania and managed by the Fish and Boat Commission for public fishing and boating.

Fishing

All seasons, sizes, and creel limits for all species at Kahle Lake have been temporarily lifted in anticipation of complete drawdown for dam and spillway repairs in 2024. Big Bass program regulations have also been removed from the lake at this time (upon publishing in the Pennsylvania Bulletin). This action was taken to encourage angler harvest to reduce the number of fish in the lake in advance of the complete drawdown.

Following construction, the PFBC plans to initiate stocking the lake as soon as refilling conditions allow, with fingerling plants of select fish species to establish a high-quality, warmwater and coolwater fishery.

Boating

Boating is limited to unpowered boats and boats powered by electric motors. Boats with electric motors are limited to slow, no wake speed. All boats with motors must be registered. All unpowered boats must be registered or display a current launch permit.  Innertubes and swim aids are not permitted.

Two launch ramps are available along with associated parking facilities.

Overnight mooring of unpowered boats is permitted only for boats that display a current registration.  Unpowered boats may be moored from March 1 through November 30 at designated areas. Launch permits do not allow mooring privileges.
