Long Pond

Located in Wayne CountyLong Pond, also known as Lake Alden, is a 81-acre impoundment owned by the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania and managed by the Fish and Boat Commission for public fishing and boating. The average and maximum depths of the pond are 10.4 and 19.5 feet, respectively.

Fishing

Long Pond is stocked with troutCommonwealth Inland Waters regulations apply for all species of fish.

The Commission historically has stocked the lake with Channel Catfish and Walleye fingerling.

Boating

One launch ramp is available along with associated parking facilities.

Boating is limited to unpowered boats and boats powered by electric motors. Boats with electric motors are limited to slow, no wake speed. All boats with motors must be registered. All unpowered boats must be registered or display a current launch permit.  Innertubes and swim aids are not permitted. There is a launch ramp and associated parking facilities

.The following special boating regulations are in place:

  • Waterskiing is permitted from 10 a.m. until 5 p.m. on weekends and holidays and from 10 a.m. until sunset on weekdays other than holidays.
  • A boat may not tow more than one water ski device on weekends and holidays from the Saturday preceding Memorial Day through Labor Day.
  • The speed of boats is limited to slow, no wake speed from sunset until sunrise.

Overnight mooring of unpowered boats is permitted only for boats that display a current registration.  Unpowered boats may be moored from March 1 through November 30 at designated areas. Launch permits do not allow mooring privileges.
