Upper Woods Pond

Located in Wayne CountyUpper Woods Pond is as a deep natural glacial lake with a surface area of 80 acres and an average and maximum depth of 29.0 and 72.6 feet, respectively. Upper Woods is owned by the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania and managed by the Fish and Boat Commission for public fishing and boating. It is located within State Game Lands 159.

Fishing

The Commission stocks Upper Woods Pond with trout. It is designated as: Stocked Trout Waters Open to Year-Round FishingCommonwealth Inland Waters regulations apply for all other species of fish.

A handicapped fishing pier is located near the launch ramp.

Boating

Boating is limited to unpowered boats and boats powered by electric motors. Boats with electric motors are limited to slow, no wake speed. All boats with motors must be registered. All unpowered boats must be registered or display a current launch permit.  Innertubes and swim aids are not permitted.

One launch ramp is available along with associated parking facilities.

Overnight mooring of unpowered boats is permitted only for boats that display a current registration.  Unpowered boats may be moored from March 1 through November 30 at designated areas. Launch permits do not allow mooring privileges.
