Grants

The Pennsylvania Fish and Boat Commission has a number of grant programs that provide funding in support of fishing, boating and aquatic resource conservation. A list of the major grant programs is featured below. If you have questions on any boating grants, please email us RA-BoatGrants@pa.gov.

Boating Facility Grant

Provides grants for the planning, acquisition, development, expansion and rehabilitation of public boating facilities.

Boating Infrastructure Grant

Provides grants for transient moorage (tie-ups) serving recreational motorboats 26 feet and longer.

Clean Vessel Act (Pumpout Grant)

Helps fund the construction, renovation, and maintenance of pumpout and dump stations to service pleasure boats.

Coldwater Heritage Partnership

Provides leadership, coordination, technical assistance, and funding support for the evaluation, conservation and protection of Pennsylvania's coldwater streams.

Cooperative Nursery Grant

Provides monies for new construction, additions and improvements, and equipment to existing nurseries within the PA Fish and Boat Commission's Cooperative Nursery program.

Erie Access Improvement Grant

Funding to assist non-profit and government organizations in the acquisition and development of angler access and the protection and improvement of fish habitat in the Erie watershed.

R3 Education Grant

The R3 (recruitment, retention and reactivation) Education Grant Program provides funding to support R3-related educational programs delivered by our partners. Supporting partners in their efforts to deliver such programming significantly increases the number of learning opportunities provided to current, past, and future anglers and boaters.

Sinnemahoning Creek Watershed Restoration Grant

Funds to develop and implement projects that benefit fishing, boating, and aquatic resources in Cameron, Elk, Potter and McKean counties, with primary emphasis on projects within the Sinnemahoning Creek Watershed upstream from the confluence of the First Fork of Sinnemahoning Creek.

State Wildlife Grant (SWG)

Federal monies for high-priority conservation projects for endangered, threatened and at-risk species across Pennsylvania.

Tulpehocken & Quittapahilla Watershed Grant

Funds for this program are used to support projects that benefit fisheries and aquatic habitats in these watersheds.

Valley Creek Watershed Grant

Funding for the restoration of the Valley Creek Watershed in Chester County, PA.

Voluntary Public Access (VPA) - Habitat Incentive Program (HIP)

Provides funding to incentivize private landowners to allow public fishing access and habitat improvement on their land.

York and Lancaster Counties Habitat Improvement Grant

Funds for this program are used to support projects that benefit habitat improvement and sediment reduction projects in these counties.
