School-based dental sealant programs provide dental sealants to children in a school setting. Dental sealants are tooth-colored or clear coatings that fill the grooves of back teeth (molars) and help keep out food and germs that cause cavities. School dental sealant programs are a highly effective way to deliver dental sealants to children who are less likely to receive private dental care.
The 2023 - 2024 School-based Sealant Program serves approximately 121 schools across Pennsylvania:
- Allegheny County Health Department (Allegheny County)
- Cornerstone Care (Allegheny, Fayette, Greene, Washington Counties)
- Family First Health (Adams, Cumberland, York Counties)
- Reading School District (Berks County)
- Star Community Health (Bucks, Carbon, Lehigh, Northampton, Schuylkill Counties)
- The Wright Center (Lackawanna County)
- Union Community Care (Lancaster County)
- Wayne Memorial Health Center (Pike and Wayne Counties)
- West Shore School District (Cumberland and York Counties)
