Family Planning Program

The Family Planning Program provides support to the statewide family planning clinics operated by Pennsylvania’s four regional Family Health Councils.

The Family Planning Program goals include preventing high-risk pregnancies among sexually active adolescents aged 17 years and younger.
 
Clinical services provided at the local clinics include:

  • Physical exams;
  • Routine gynecological care;
  • Pregnancy testing;
  • Contraceptives;
  • Cancer screening and examinations;
  • General health screening;
  • Sexually Transmitted Disease (STD) diagnosis, treatment, education and counseling; and,
  • HIV/AIDS education and screening
  • Education and counseling
