Pittsburgh, PA – PennDOT District 11 is announcing a single-lane restrictions on I-376 (Parkway East) in Churchill Borough, Wilkins Township and the Municipalities of Penn Hills and Monroeville, Allegheny County, will occur Saturday night, March 23 weather permitting.
A single-lane restriction will occur in each direction on I-376 between the Penn Hills (Exit 80) interchange and Plum (Exit 84B) exit from 7 p.m. Saturday night to 5 a.m. Sunday morning as crews install paint containment cables and decking under several structures in this section for future painting operations. Two lanes of traffic will be maintained through the area.
This work is part of the $70.1 million I-376 Parkway East Betterment Project. Work will include a superstructure replacement over Old William Penn Highway, two bridge rehabilitations over Old William Penn Highway/Lougay Road/Sunset Drive and Thompson Run Road/Thompson Run/Union Railroad, and six bridge preservations along the I-376. Throughout the project motorists can expect long-term single-lane restrictions, several weekends with traffic down to a single lane, and a long-term crossover in 2025. The improvements on the 4.5 miles of the Parkway East between the Churchill/Route 130 (Exit 79B) and Monroeville/Business Route 22 (Exit 80) interchanges are anticipated to conclude in the fall 2026.
