Uniontown, PA – Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) District 12 is announcing the replacement of median barriers with top- and side-mounted delineation devices on eastbound and westbound Interstate 70 in Westmoreland County.
Daily, daylight, single-lane restrictions are scheduled from Tuesday, December 3 to Friday, December 6, 6:30 AM-5:00 PM, as follows:
- Westbound
- From Exit 49 (Smithton) in South Huntingdon Township
- To Exit 46 (Route 51, Pittsburgh/Uniontown) in Rostraver Township
- Eastbound
- From Exit 46 (Route 51, Uniontown/Pittsburgh) in Rostraver Township
- To Exit 57 (New Stanton/Hunker) in New Stanton Borough
Greene Acres Contracting will complete the work as part of a Low-Cost Safety Improvement Project (LCSIP) to enhance safety on state roads in Greene, Washington, and Westmoreland counties. The project includes installing safety features such as delineators on concrete median barriers, guide rails, mountable curbs, and delineation posts – a $612K investment in infrastructure improvements.
Work is weather-dependent and subject to operational changes.
