    PennDOT’s Bureau of Maintenance and Operations (BOMO) provides information to those who haul on Pennsylvania’s posted and bonded roads. This includes, but is not limited to, haulers in the following industries:

    • Aggregate & Quarry
    • Agricultural
    • Coal
    • Timber
    • Unconventional Oil & Gas

    The information focuses on the permitting process and addresses existing regulations and related policy as part of the Posted & Bonded Roads chapter in PennDOT’s Maintenance Manual (Publication 23, Chapter 15). The information covers the responsibilities of heavy haulers and Posting Authorities in the inspection, posting, permitting, bonding and improvement of roads to protect and preserve structural integrity, safety, and mobility for the motoring public.
