Central Bayfront Parkway

Bicycle and Pedestrian Amenities

There are several aspects of the Bayfront Parkway Central Corridor Improvement Project that address the concerns for increased safety and accessibility for pedestrians and bicyclists. The construction plan includes a pedestrian bridge, enhanced street level cross walks at all intersections, completion of missing trail connections on the waterfront side of the parkway, bike lanes on State Street, and traffic calming measures throughout the corridor.

Below is a video of the planned pedestrian and bicycle improvements planned along the Bayfront Parkway.

Pedestrian Walk along Bayfront Parkway

Pedestrian access improvements will be made throughout the Bayfront Parkway central corridor in the City of Erie, Pennsylvania. This will include upgrades to sidewalks, crosswalks, and lighting, as well as the completion of missing portions of the existing multi-use trail.

Pedestrian Walk along State Street

As part of the Bayfront Parkway Improvement Project in the City of Erie, Pennsylvania, a grade-separated intersection will be constructed at State Street. This will reduce the length of the crosswalks from 86 feet to 31 feet and decrease the number of vehicles traveling through the area where pedestrians are crossing.
