Project Overview
PennDOT partnered with the Erie Western PA Port Authority to study of the Erie’s East Side community oriented along the Bayfront, the primary focus was from Holland Street through Hess Avenue.
This study builds on previous planning efforts to identify and evaluate new bicycle and pedestrian connections and improvements in the East Side community within the City of Erie along the Bayfront.
A steering committee was formed with representatives from the community as well as the Erie Western PA Port authority, the City of Erie, and local organizations and businesses. Recommendations from the committee were presented during a public meeting on August 15. The Final Report on the study is now available for the public to review.
The results of this study can be used by partners to develop strategies for funding and implementation of the selected improvements.
