This $11.5 million rehabilitation project of the Crawford Avenue Bridge in the City of Connellsville, Fayette County, Pennsylvania will add a shared-use path to the structure, allowing for safe pedestrian and bicycle access. The bridge separates the east and west sides of Connellsville and is a critical component of the community. This project will extend the life of the structure, improve safety, and significantly benefit the needs of the city’s citizens.

Project work is scheduled from January 9 to late 2024.

Project Updates

​09/16/2024 – All sidewalks on the structure have been completed. Pilasters for the decorative barrier have been placed. Barrier placements are to begin this week. The contractor has also started working on full-depth roadway reconstruction. Crawford Avenue and Dean Street will remain closed fully, and Water Street will be closed as needed. 

08/19/2024 – All bridge deck placements have been completed. The sidewalk and barrier are the focus of the structure. The contractor has also resumed drainage work on the city side of the bridge. Crawford Avenue and Dean Street will remain fully closed. Water Street will be closed under the bridge as operations dictate.
