District 5 Projects - Lehigh County

Route 309 at Center Valley Parkway Improvement Project

Route 309 at Center Valley Parkway Improvement Project

This project is being designed to improve the intersection of State Route 309 at Center Valley Parkway/West Saucon Valley Road in Upper Saucon Township, Lehigh County.

This online plans display includes digital picture boards and an online questionnaire, and is available to the public until August 5, 2024.

The Route 309 at Center Valley Parkway Intersection Improvement Project involves safety and capacity improvements by converting the signalized at-grade intersection of Route 309 and Center Valley Parkway/West Saucon Valley Road to a grade-separated interchange.

Also included are the construction of new signalized on/off ramp intersections with Center Valley Parkway and West Saucon Valley Road.

Other work includes guide rail upgrades, drainage improvements, highway lighting, overhead signing and pavement marking upgrades.

Route 309 within the project area is a divided four lane Urban Principal Arterial Roadway that runs in the north-south direction and supports regional traffic.

West Saucon Valley Road and Center Valley Parkway are both classified as Urban Major Collectors.

The project will be constructed using staged construction. Two lanes of traffic in each direction will be maintained on Route 309 throughout construction.

Construction is anticipated to begin in late 2026 with an expected completion in 2030. All schedules are subject to change.

Individuals or groups with a demonstrated interest within the project limits, surrounding businesses, and local property owners that may be affected by the proposed project are encouraged to review the displays and contact us with any questions.

The purpose of the plans display is to introduce the project and receive public input regarding any questions or concerns with the project.
