Project Overview
County: Bucks
State Route(s): Route 2043
Local Name: Brownsville Road
Project Type: Bridge Replacement
The project is located in Lower Southampton and Middletown Townships, Bucks County. This proposed project is to replace the existing 4-span bridge with a 3-span bridge. The proposed bridge will be slightly widened (by 9.875 feet) and lengthened (by 24 feet). The approach roadways will be reconstructed to raise the vertical alignment over Neshaminy Creek to provide an adequate waterway opening and to slightly improve the existing sight distance on both approaches to the bridge.
Staged construction will be used to demolish and construct the new bridge in half-widths and traffic will be maintained using a one-lane alternating flow pattern under the control of temporary traffic signals.
A Categorical Exclusion Evaluation was prepared to document the environmental studies performed related to the proposed construction. The most recent re-evaluation was completed on 2/12/2021.
