The Downingtown Station Project includes the construction of a new train station along Brandywine Avenue (U.S. 322) between Boot Road and Chester Alley in Downingtown, Pennsylvania. The new station will be ADA accessible and will include two high-level platforms with canopies for inbound and outbound trains, elevator/stair towers connecting the platform with the street level/parking areas, approximately 500 parking spaces, internal circulation roadways that include designated areas for drop-offs (both north and south of the railroad tracks), bike racks, sidewalks.
The proposed construction also includes the replacement of the existing AMTRAK overpass structure and stormwater management facilities.
The decommission and removal of the existing station will occur after the new station is opened.
