Wismer Road Bridge Over Hickory Creek Culvert Replacement

Project Overview

County: Bucks
State Route(s): Route 1003
Local Name(s): Wismer Road
Project Type: Culvert Replacement

The existing bridge is a 12’ long single-span rolled steel I-beam that was constructed in 1937.  The bridge carries Wismer Road (Route 1003) over Hickory Creek in Plumstead Township, Bucks County.  The structure is in overall poor condition and is posted with a 21-ton (single vehicle)/29-ton (combined vehicle) weight restriction.

The project involves the replacement of the existing structure with a slightly longer single-span concrete box culvert.

The project also includes the replacement of the guide rail, signing, and pavement markings.

All traffic will be detoured during construction.
