The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) invites the public to an online plans display regarding the State Route 2018 (Lucky Road) bridge replacement project. This project is located over Otter Creek in Chanceford Township, York County. The purpose of this project is to is to replace the existing bridge that was closed to traffic in 2018 and improve safety. The project consists of the replacement of an existing single-span, single-lane steel I-beam structure originally constructed in 1907 and reconstructed in 2005. The proposed structure is a single-span, two-lane concrete spread box beam bridge founded on conventional spread footings. The proposed structure will carry two (2) travel lanes (10-foot left, 12-foot right) with 2-foot minimum shoulders. The proposed project will closely match the existing roadway horizontal alignment, while raising the vertical alignment to allow for a deeper superstructure.
The project is currently in design, and it is anticipated to be constructed during the 2026 construction season.
A digital version of the information will be available to view online from November 7, 2024 to December 7, 2024.
