    Performance Goals and Milestones

    PENNVEST has adopted performance goals to determine how effectively and efficiently the agency delivers services to the citizens, businesses, and local governments of Pennsylvania. PENNVEST tracks its goals and milestones to assist PENNVEST staff to grow the program consistent with the agency's stratigic goals.

    Performance Goals

    To ensure that PENNVEST continues to evolve in meeting the needs of those entities and communities in need of water quality project funding, we have created trackable goals to gauge the benefits our financial assistance provides to the Commonwealth.

    PENNVEST has adopted the following goals.

    1. Increase the number of people whose drinking water meets Commonwealth water quality standards.
    2. Reduce pollutants of concern to surface water.
    3. Reduce nitrogen and phosphorous discharges in the Chesapeake Bay Watershed.
    4. Increase the proportion of PENNVEST subsidies allocated to projects that would not occur in the absense of such subsidies.
    5. Increase the number of sustainable jobs in Pennsylvania.
    6. Reduce or eliminate combined sewer overflows.

     

    PENNVEST attains these goals by:

    • Facilitating funding approval from the application phase to the board approval phase for projects designed to improve water quality including drinking water, wastewater, stormwater, non-point source and green infrastructure projects.
    • Ensuring these water quality related projects move to the settlement phase of the financing process.
    • Disbursing funding to allow for successful water quality related projects to be realized.
    • Utilizing the Clean Water Procurement Program to purchase verified nutrient and sediment reduction achieved through the facilitation of best management practices.
    • Utilizing grant equivalent subsidies to provide financial assistance to underserved communities and to maintain utility user rate targets.
    • Allowing for the ability of communities to identify, plan for, and accomplish projects that increase the potential of sustainable jobs in the Commonwealth.
