Myron E. Yoder, M.Ed, is a retired, 37-year educator from the Allentown School District. He received a B.S. and Master’s Degree from Kutztown University and an Administrative Certification from Marywood University. Myron was an adjunct professor at Cedar Crest College and DeSales University until his retirement. Prior to teaching, he was a Correctional Officer and Emergency Counselor at Lehigh County Prison. He earned numerous awards and recognitions throughout his career, including becoming a 1994 semifinalist for Outstanding Teacher in Pennsylvania.
Myron currently drives a school bus and trains drivers for STA, which serves the Allentown School District. He also serves as Vice President of the Board for the Lehigh County Historical Society, and he is very active in civic education at the national level through the Center for Civic Education. He has trained educators across the United States and around the world, and published and co-authored several education-related articles, materials, and resources.
Myron began working with the Professional Standards and Practices Commission in 1996 and has served as the Practices Chair since 2006. He was elected Chairman Pro Tempore of the Commission in 2017.
