Harrisburg, PA – Since taking office, Governor Josh Shapiro has been committed to delivering real results on the issues that matter most -- putting money back in people’s pockets, improving public schools, supporting law enforcement and public safety, creating economic opportunity, and protecting the rights and freedoms of all Pennsylvanians. Over the past two years, he has visited hundreds of communities, listening to folks, addressing their concerns, and delivering real results by bringing people together to tackle everyday challenges and get stuff done.

To mark his midterm milestone this month, Governor Shapiro launched a statewide tour to highlight the progress we have made, from agriculture and economic development to public safety, tax cuts, and education.

See what Pennsylvanians and leaders across the Commonwealth are saying about the progress Pennsylvania is making under Governor Shapiro's Administration:

Secretary of Agriculture Russell Redding: “As our farmers face increasing demands to feed a growing population while continuing their legacy of environmental stewardship, Governor Shapiro’s leadership and investments will ensure that Pennsylvania’s agricultural businesses remain strong and innovative.”

Tom Sellig, CEO of Adare Pharma Solutions: “Access to a highly skilled talent pool and key markets is critical for us, and the Philadelphia area provides exactly what we need. That’s why we’re relocating to Pennsylvania and expanding our facilities in Philadelphia. Pennsylvania is truly a life sciences hub, and the Shapiro Administration, along with the Philadelphia Chamber of Commerce, has been instrumental in helping us — as they have for many companies like ours."

Yogini Patel, packaging supervisor at Adare Pharma Solutions: “As we look to the future, it’s clear that investing in companies like Adare is not just important — it’s essential. Organizations like ours drive advancements in healthcare, improve patient adherence, and create solutions that have a global impact. Supporting companies that prioritize innovation and quality ensures we continue to deliver value not just to our industry, but to society as a whole.”

Department of Community and Economic Development Secretary Rick Siger: “Governor Shapiro and I have focused on creating economic opportunity for all Pennsylvanians by investing in resources that will empower our workforce and businesses. We’re making strategic investments in every corner of our Commonwealth and will continue to get stuff done that will spur innovation, create jobs, support our communities, and invest in Pennsylvania’s bright future.”

Chief Matthew Rickard, Lock Haven Police Department: “The funds will be used to reimburse costs associated with Act 120 training for officers joining the Lock Haven Police Department. This funding has opened doors for applicants who previously faced barriers, allowing us to build a fully staffed department and better serve the residents of Lock Haven. We are grateful for this support and investment in our community.”

Angela Harding, Clinton County Commissioner: “Clinton County Government is very appreciative of Governor Shapiro and his administration’s focus on crime and delinquency, as well as their efforts to help Clinton County — and most recently the City of Lock Haven — secure valuable funding to enhance law enforcement and support the men and women whose careers are a chosen sacrifice to the safety of all.”

Lock Haven Mayor Joel Long: “Investing in our police department ensures safety for residents, businesses, and visitors alike. These grants are crucial for small cities like ours. We're grateful for the continued support of the Commonwealth, Pennsylvania Commission on Crime and Delinquency, and Governor Shapiro in strengthening local law enforcement."

Lieutenant Governor Austin Davis: “Across Pennsylvania, we’re seeing real progress from the investments we’ve made — with many of our major cities seeing reductions in homicides and gun violence. I’m proud of the impactful work being done by the Pennsylvania Commission on Crime and Delinquency, as well as the dedication of PSP and local police departments. But we can’t let up now — we must stay the course and continue making smart investments to ensure our communities are safer for everyone."

Pennsylvania State Police Colonel Christopher Paris: “The partnership between state and local law enforcement is at the heart of our efforts to keep communities safe. Lock Haven’s success demonstrates how targeted funding and collaboration can enhance public safety. Governor Shapiro’s steadfast support of law enforcement is making a real difference in the lives of Pennsylvanians.”

Pennsylvania senior and PTRR recipient Donna Terry: “I want to share how the Property Tax/Rent Rebate Program has made such a difference in my life. This program helped me cover my rent, groceries, and medical bills—things I couldn’t afford on my own. It lifted so many financial burdens, and for that, I’m truly grateful. What’s more, the application process was easy, and the staff were incredibly helpful every step of the way. This program has been a lifeline.”

Heather Sedlacko, Executive Director of Vintage Senior Center: “The combination of financial relief provided by programs like the PA Property Tax/Rent Rebate Program and the social support offered by Vintage creates a holistic approach to supporting older adults throughout their lives. We are proud to be part of this effort and deeply grateful to Governor Shapiro and the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania for their continued commitment to supporting our older neighbors."

Senator Lindsey Williams: “We saw a huge increase in the number of people eligible for the Property Tax/Rent Rebate Program last year. Each one of the applications that my office processed is a person who can breathe a little easier because of the rebate they received. I am grateful to those constituents who shared their stories of how important the PTRR is with us, and I look forward to helping even more eligible residents receive their rebates in 2025."

Representative La’Tasha Mayes: “I understand how important the Property Tax/Rent Rebate Program is, and ensuring you have access to state programs in your community is a priority for me and my staff. In 2024, my district office provided over 2,700 constituent services — processing hundreds of rebates and putting tens of thousands of dollars back in the pockets of our seniors. I’m proud to announce that we processed the most Property Tax/Rent Rebate services in the entire Democratic caucus during my first term, demonstrating our commitment to prioritizing seniors."

Allegheny County Executive Sara Innamorato: “This expansion of the state's Property Tax/Rent Rebate is a lifeline for our seniors and our disabled neighbors, and I want to thank Governor Shapiro and all the partners who helped make this expansion happen. I want to encourage seniors and everyone who is eligible for tax rebates and discounts to make sure they know what programs are available to them at their local, county, and state level and to take advantage of them this tax season."

Pittsburgh Mayor Ed Gainey: “From day one, my administration has focused on making government work for everyone. The Property Tax/Rent Rebate Program shows Pittsburghers that their state leaders share this priority. Thanks to our legislative delegation and the Governor’s support, the General Assembly empowered us to create a program protecting longtime homeowners from tax increases driven by neighborhood development. I’m grateful for Governor Shapiro’s collaboration as we work to build a stronger, more resilient city for all."

Secretary of Revenue Pat Browne: “Through our work every day, our dedicated staff at the Department of Revenue has seen firsthand how impactful the expansion of the Property Tax/Rent Rebate program has been for Pennsylvanians across the Commonwealth. We’re very proud to support a major initiative for Governor Shapiro by delivering rebates to hundreds of thousands of Pennsylvanians who submitted applications last year. We are prepared again this year to provide as much support as we can to the people who benefit from this program.”

Allentown School District Superintendent Dr. Carol Birks: “These investments are making a real difference for our students and educators. Thanks to Governor Shapiro’s leadership, we’re creating safer, healthier learning environments and providing critical support for students and their families.”

Josh Colon-Hernandez, a student at Harrison-Morton Middle School: “Our teachers at Harrison-Morton care so much about us, and I've had so many opportunities here to try new things, express myself, and discover who I am. This school and its environment have helped me grow and learn in ways I never thought possible. These opportunities wouldn't have been possible without the support of Governor Shapiro, Dr. Birks, Representative Schweyer, and everyone else who has helped make them happen. On behalf of all the students — especially as a volleyball player and a band student — I want to say thank you."

House Majority Education Committee Chairman Representative Peter Schweyer: “Under the leadership of Governor Shapiro, we made some truly remarkable investments and improvements to the way we fund our schools, starting the long processes of fixing years of underfunding. While we absolutely should celebrate these investments in our children’s futures, we have more work to do to make sure every child has the resources to ensure a bright future. We remain committed to building on last year’s budget, so every Pennsylvania child receives a quality education and the opportunities to succeed.”

Senator Nick Miller: “I'm grateful to welcome Governor Shapiro to the Lehigh Valley and to have such a steadfast advocate for education in the Governor's office. Together with the Allentown delegation in the House, we've worked diligently to make education a top priority, strengthen our communities, foster innovation, and create opportunities for future generations. A quality education is the cornerstone of a thriving society, and by empowering students to reach their full potential, we prepare them to become the skilled workforce of tomorrow. This year's budget marked a historic milestone with critical funding for school repairs and infrastructure upgrades, ensuring that students can learn in safe, supportive environments. I look forward to building on this progress with continued investments in education across the commonwealth."

Representative Josh Siegel: “I want you to know there’s been no stronger ally for the Allentown School District, the city of Allentown, and the Lehigh Valley than Governor Josh Shapiro. Time and again, he and his administration have delivered for our region — whether in economic development, public safety, or public education. As a legislative delegation, we are sincerely grateful for his commitment to the Lehigh Valley. Governor Shapiro has a GSD mentality— he gets stuff done. He knows that when we underfund our schools and shortchange our students, it’s not just kids who suffer — the entire state pays the price."

Interim Acting Secretary of Education Angela Fitterer: “Today’s learners are the future leaders of Pennsylvania and making sure they have everything they need to learn, grow, and chart their own course starts with making sure we are adequately investing in them and their education. Because of this Administration’s work, more kids are eating breakfast in the morning, more students have mental health support they can count on, and more schools are making crucial infrastructure repairs to keep school environments healthy and safe. I look forward to continuing to invest in our schools and school communities and ensure every student in Pennsylvania has the high-quality education they deserve.”
