PA Turnpike Commission
Sections 1380a and 1380E of the Pennsylvania Vehicle Code
Effective January 2, 2023, under the Pennsylvania Vehicle Code, if you have incurred four or more unpaid toll invoices, or have accumulated $250 or more in unpaid invoices and fees, regardless of the number of unpaid invoices, or defaulted in a payment plan for tolls and fees from the PA Turnpike Commission (PTC), your vehicle registration may be suspended. If you do not respond within 30 days, the PTC may notify PennDOT and you will be sent a notice of suspension, as authorized in Section 1380(a).
An additional suspension may be imposed if you have incurred additional unpaid tolls while your registration is suspended as authorized in Section 1380(e).
All payments of tolls must be made to the PTC at 300 East Park Drive, Harrisburg, PA 17111. All questions regarding these tolls must be directed to the PTC by calling 1 (877) 736-6727 and say 'Customer Service' at the prompts and then choose Option 5 to speak to a representative.
The suspension will remain in effect until compliance is confirmed by the PTC and all other applicable restoration requirements are satisfied. If you fail to pay the tolls and fees by the suspension effective date, an indefinite suspension will go into effect and an administrative hold will be placed on your vehicle registration. A restoration fee will be required before registration is restored.
The restoration fee will be paid to the PTC at the time the tolls and other fees are paid. The restoration fee is subject to a biennial Consumer Price Index adjustment. For the current restoration fee amount due, review Form MV-70S, "Bureau of Motor Vehicles Schedule of Fees," or obtain a restoration requirements letter. The restoration requirements letter outlines all criteria that must be met before a vehicle's registration can be restored.
