About PEMA

The Pennsylvania Emergency Management Agency coordinates with everyone else in the state to keep Pennsylvanians safe.

Overview

We help communities and individuals mitigate against, prepare for, respond to, and recover from emergencies. This includes natural disasters, acts of terrorism, and other human-made disasters.

We support county emergency management agencies, including:

  • Federal and state partners
  • Volunteer organizations involved in disasters
  • Private sector business community
  • Pennsylvanians

Our Structure

Our director oversees all agency operations and an executive deputy director who oversees the 911, administration, and recovery offices.
