National Incident Management System

The National Incident Management System guides all levels of government, nongovernmental organizations and the private sector to work together to prevent, protect against, mitigate, respond to and recover from incidents.

Overview

All local governments and state agencies must comply with the National Incident Management System to be eligible for federal preparedness assistance. The system was established on March 1, 2004, and adopted by Pennsylvania on Dec. 20, 2004.
