Public Boat Launch and Lower Parking Area at North East Marina to be Closed for Maintenance

NORTH EAST, Pa. (April 3) -- The Pennsylvania Fish and Boat Commission (PFBC) announced today that effective immediately, the public boat launch and lower parking area at North East Marina, Erie County, will be closed so that maintenance may be performed.

While a closure of the facility was expected to occur beginning the week of April 7, 2025, to prepare for annual maintenance at the facility, the closure has been expedited due to the collapse of a portion of the interior wall at the marina affecting the lower parking area.

Annual maintenance at the marina during the spring typically lasts approximately two weeks so that contractors can perform dredging, sedimentation removal, erosion control activities, and installation of seasonal courtesy docks at the boat launch area.  This closure will remain in place until further notice as PFBC staff assess damage to the wall.

Visitors to the North East Marina property should avoid the active work zone around the marina basin and lower parking lot which is marked by temporary fencing and signage.

The PFBC thanks the public for their patience and understanding.  Updates will be provided as this project is completed.
