Winter Recreation

Pennsylvania state parks are open 365 days a year, even in the winter. The Winter Report provides ice and snow depth information for state parks.

Enjoy the Winter

When winter conditions provide adequate temperatures and snowfall, several park trails can be cross-country skied.

Use snowshoes or skis on snow covered trails to help maintain the trails for everyone’s enjoyment.

Avoid walking in ski tracks. “Barebooting” causes dangerous holes and ruts on the trails, creating hazards for skiers.

Note that parking areas may not be plowed or accessible due to limited staffing throughout the winter months. Park only in designated parking areas.

Please check the trail difficulty rating before adventuring on the trails.
