Sizerville State Park
The 386-acre Sizerville State Park is nearly surrounded by Elk State Forest and is close to one of the largest blocks of state forest land in the commonwealth.
Sizerville has many recreational and natural opportunities including hiking, picnicking, swimming, fishing, wildlife watching, and camping.
Cherry Springs State Park
The 82-acre Cherry Springs State Park is nearly as remote and wild today as it was two centuries ago. Night sky enthusiasts flock to the park for its dark skies which are famous for great views of the Milky Way, planets, and hard-to-see astronomical objects and phenomena.
The park is surrounded by the 262,000-acre Susquehannock State Forest. The Susquehannock Trail passes nearby and offers 85 miles of backpacking and hiking.
Elk State Forest
Located about an hour away from Bendigo State Park, the nearly 200,000-acre Elk State Forest offers 17 hiking trails, areas that allow mountain biking, approximately 53 miles of designated horseback riding trails, and opportunities for picnicking, fishing, hunting, and camping.
Elk State Forest is one of eight state forests located in the Pennsylvania Wilds Center.

- The ruins of a broken dam and destroyed buildings are still visible just north of Austin, approximately 18 miles north of Sinnemahoning State Park on PA 872 at the Austin Dam Memorial Site.
