In-Person Public Meeting
PennDOT District 11 and the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) hosted an in-person public meeting on Thursday, March 27, 2025, at Valley Veterans Association in Sewickley to discuss the Glenfield Viaduct Preservation Project. Click the button below to view the presentation.
The Pennsylvania Railroad Mainline is eligible for listing in the National Register of Historic Places. Section 106 of the National Historic Preservation Act requires Federal Agencies to take into account the effects of projects on historic and archaeological resources. This meeting provides an opportunity for the public to provide feedback on the historical significance of the resource.

The proposed project scope of work includes pier and abutment repairs, bearing replacements, expansion dam replacements, steel repairs, painting of steel, a PPC overlay on the bridge deck, barrier repairs and an adjoining stair tower will be repaired and painted as well. The project is anticipated to be begin construction in 2028.
