Proposed Construction Start: Summer 2026
Proposed Construction End: Spring 2028
Pike County invites the public to a Public Meeting with Plans Display regarding the T-440 Section BRG Structure Replacement Project in Shohola Township, Pike County. The T-440 Section BRG project involves the replacement of the structure that carries T-440 (Shohola Falls Road) over Balliard Creek in Shohola Township, Pike County. The project purpose is to replace the existing reinforced concrete closed spandrel arch culvert. The existing structure is experiencing major deterioration on the arch barrel. Roadway improvements associated with the project include pavement reconstruction in the vicinity of the bridge, providing lane and shoulder widths meeting current design criteria. New guide rail and signs will be provided where appropriate.
As part of the environmental restrictions, no in-stream work will be allowed from October 1 through December 31 to accommodate the natural reproduction of trout.
Past Public Outreach
An in-person plans display took place on October 10, 2024 at the Shohola Township Building (159 Twin Lakes Road, Shohola, PA 18458). The virtual display and public comment period were also open from Sept 26, 2024 - October 24, 2024.
