Project Overview
Repair of soil slide on Overton Road (Route 3002), due to flooding in 2018 that occurred in Albany Township and New Albany Borough. Work includes construction of four new retaining walls to repair areas of damage, replacement of the existing culvert carrying Overton Road over Ladd’s Creek and resurfacing of approximately one-half mile of roadway from the culvert east to Fawcett Avenue. Traffic is currently detoured.
Work planned for the 2025 construction season includes starting soil slide repairs on the four retaining walls. Additional work includes installation of a box culvert to improve drainage.
There will be a winter shutdown and work will continue into 2026.
Work in 2026 will include completing the retaining walls, roadway reconstruction, paving, installation of guide rail, new roadway signs, and line painting. The project is anticipated to be completed in the fall of 2026.
