The project consists of replacing the existing 60” pipe carrying Beach Lake Creek in Berlin Township with a two-lane, cast-in-place reinforced concrete box culvert.  The project also includes minor approach roadway work and guide rail updates.  The proposed typical roadway section on Route 1011 will consist of two 9’ lanes and 2’ shoulders in each direction. 

Construction work is anticipated to take place in the summer of 2026. 

Detours

Traffic will be detoured throughout construction by utilizing a signed detour. The 5-mile detour will utilize Route 1011 Catholic Church Road, SR 652 (Beach Lake Highway), and SR 1013 (Perkins Pond Road). 

Public Outreach

Public Meeting

PennDOT invites the public to plans display regarding Route 1011, Section 670, temporary pipe replacement, in Wayne County. The project will be presented at the regularly scheduled Board of Supervisors Meeting held at the Berlin Township Community Center, 50 Milanville Rd., Beach Lake, PA 18405.

The purpose of the public meeting and display is to introduce the project and the associated maintenance and protection of traffic during construction to receive public questions, comments, or other input.
