The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announces an online plans display for the State Route 3018 (Mutton Hollow Road) bridge over Kettle Creek in Hamilton Township, Monroe County. The project involves the replacement of the bridge carrying Mutton Hollow Road over Kettle Creek.

The 18 feet long, 18 feet wide Mutton Hollow Road bridge is a concrete encased I-beam bridge constructed in 1912, widened in 1964 and has an average daily traffic volume of 520 vehicles. The substructure consists of reinforced concrete abutments with integral wingwalls. The superstructure exhibits heavy spalling with exposed reinforcement and severe section loss. The existing structure is posted with a 15-ton weight restriction and has deteriorated to a level where the bridge needs to be replaced.

The proposed replacement structure is a 31 feet long, 15 feet wide precast concrete box culvert that will have no weight restriction. The bridge roadway approaches will be reconstructed as required including installation of guiderail. In general, the project is anticipated to maintain the existing roadway and stream alignment.

The project will utilize a detour route consisting of Rimrock Drive, Business Route 209/Hamilton East, Pennsyl Creek Road, Neola Road, Twin Pine Road and Setzer Road. The proposed detour is 7.4 miles in length.

The project is anticipated to be constructed in 2028. All schedules are subject to change.
