Last Updated: January 2025
PennDOT plans to replace the bridge that carries Gilbertsville Road (Route 4040) over a Branch of Minister Creek in Douglass Township, Montgomery County. The existing single-span reinforced concrete slab bridge is in poor condition and was constructed in 1938.
It Is anticipated the proposed culvert would include two 12-foot lanes and two 5-foot shoulders. Additional construction includes the replacement of guide rail and guide rail end treatments, approach pavement reconstruction and resurfacing, and new pavement markings and signing.
During construction, the portion of Gilbertsville Road will be closed to all traffic. Drivers will be directed to a detour route that uses Maugers Mill Road, North Charlotte Street, and Big Road.
