DEP's Office of Program Integration (OPI) was created during the department-wide reorganization of 2011 to ensure consistency and effectiveness of DEP programs across the six regions. The office develops and coordinates the implementation of initiatives and programs that span across programs and organizations within the agency. The office is responsible for evaluating statewide program implementation and maintenance for consistency, effectiveness and efficiency; coordinating and integrating policy and program development with field activities; overseeing the development of metrics and the measurement of program effectiveness; organizing multi-agency program initiatives; and supervising special projects that have department-wide significance.
The office serves as a liaison with the Environmental Protection Agency, the Governor’s Office of Administration and Management and Office of Performance Through Excellence for the purpose of strategic planning for programs, and works with DEP Regional Offices and executive staff on matters that cross program lines. The office directly oversees three statewide programs: Vector Management, Emergency Response and Complaint Response. The office also collaborates with the Conservation and Environment Delivery Center on the management of multi-program information technology projects and data quality assurance.
