    PA Bituminous Equipment Approval Application Process

    Mining equipment used at or in Pennsylvania Bituminous underground mining operations shall have Bureau approval before being placed in operation. This approval is mandated and assures that mining equipment is designed and maintained in a safe condition. The specific requirements, equipment and process for electrical equipment are defined in Act 55 of 2008 Chapter 3 Electrical Equipment. The requirements for diesel equipment approval are defined in Chapter 4 Diesel-Powered Equipment.
