Project Overview
The purpose of the project is to preserve the bridge that carries Millbrook Road over Interstate 79 located on Millbrook Road (Route 2103) approximately 1/2 miles west of the intersection with South Foster Road in Jackson Township, Mercer County.
The project includes concrete deck and substructure repairs, replacing roller bearings, removing the deck joints, and making minor modifications to the barriers. The roadway approaches will be milled and overlaid to tie into the bridge updates and shoulder backups will be done.
Work is expected to occur during the 2024 construction season and will last approximately two to three months.
A detour will be required during construction. The proposed 5.8-mile detour route will be posted using South Cottage Road, Route 62, and South Foster Road.
The existing steel stringer bridge was built in 1965. Approximately 100 vehicles a day use the bridge, on average.
