Interstate 70 Drilling Begins Tomorrow in Washington County

Uniontown, PA—Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) District 12 is announcing a daytime single-lane restriction on westbound Interstate 70, scheduled to begin tomorrow morning, Wednesday, November 13, in Speers and Twilight boroughs and Fallowfield Township, Washington County.

The restriction will run from the Speers/Belle Vernon Bridge to Exit 35 (Route 481, Monongahela/Centerville) from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM daily and is anticipated to last through the end of the year. It will change direction to eastbound around mid-December.

Crews from Armstrong Drilling will drill geotechnical test borings for the I-70 Belle Vernon Bridge to Bentleyville project, which is currently in design.

There will be no restrictions during the holidays, and all work will depend on weather and operations.
