The project involves the widening of Route 50, Washington Pike. The proposed project includes widening along Route 50 between Mayer Street and the Great Southern Shopping Center, widening between Vanadium Road and the Ramps at I-79 for the extension of the left turn lane to Vanadium Road and to provide dual left turn lanes to the I-79 Ramps, the widening of the Northbound entrance ramp to I-79, and widening between the Ramps at I-79 and Thoms Run Road. The purpose for the project is to improve the safety and operations of the Route 50 corridor and the Route 50/I-79 Ramps intersection.

The project is tentatively slated to start construction in 2027.
