    There have been a variety of safety enhancements installed at this intersection but driver behaviors have not changed.  It is our recommendation to restrict access through the intersection to reduce conflicts between traffic on Route 422 and traffic that is entering Route 422 from Glade Run Road.  We are proposing the elimination of left turns and cross traffic through the intersection.

    Public Meeting

    The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) held a public on September 26, 2024 highlighting the proposed changes to the Route 422/Glade Run Road Intersection in East Franklin Township, Armstrong County.

    The purpose of this meeting was to provide an opportunity for the public to learn about and comment on the proposed changes to the intersection.  PennDOT officials were on hand to share information on recommended changes, explain constraints with other proposed solutions, and exchange dialogue with the county officials and community members.
