    High Street over Sprogels Run Bridge Replacement

    The existing East High Street bridge over Sprogels Run is a 2-span stone masonry arch structure built in 1910. It is currently in serious condition and is posted for 15 tons, with the exception of 22 tons for combination vehicles. Recent inspections identified areas requiring immediate repair, which include masonry restoration, void filling, missing stone replacement, and application of “shotcrete” to portions of the structure. The Department will complete these interim repairs directly.

    The project will undergo all necessary engineering design phases, including an alternatives assessment for major rehabilitation or full structure replacement. The chosen alternative will eliminate existing weight restrictions by restoring full serviceability and safely accommodate all transportation modes.
