Uniontown, PA – PennDOT District 12 would like to remind motorists of a road closure on a section of Route 18 from Burgettstown to Hickory in Mount Pleasant Township, Washington County. The closure began on Tuesday, May 9 and is anticipated to last until late May, weather and operational dependent.
Route 18 is closed where it intersects Route 50 in Hickory to allow crews to perform concrete reconstruction at the intersection. A posted detour is in place utilizing Route 18, Route 22, Route 980 and Route 50.
Route 18 is open to traffic from Washington to Hickory.
Crews from Eurovia Atlantic Coast, LLC are performing the work.
This work is part of a $8.1 million project consisting of milling and resurfacing, concrete reconstruction at the Route 18 and Route 50 intersection, traffic signal replacement at the intersection with Route 4020 (Oak Grove Road) and North Hewitt Avenue as well as updating the drainage, guiderail, and signing & pavement markings. The project is anticipated to be complete in April of 2024.
