    Surface Improvement Work Scheduled in Washington County

    ​Uniontown, PA – PennDOT District 12 would like to inform motorists that surface improvement work will take place in Washington County through the end of October, weather and operational dependent.

    Intermittent weekday daylight single-lane restrictions between 7:00 AM and 5:00 PM will occur as needed at the following locations:

    • Route 40 (National Pike) in Claysville Borough and Donegal Township
    • Route 50 (Avella Road) in Cross Creek Township
    • Route 88 (Main Street) in the City of Monongahela and New Eagle Borough
    • Route 481 (Scenic Drive) in Centerville Borough, Fallowfield Township, and West Pike Run Township
    • Route 519 (Eighty-Four Road) in North Strabane Township
    • Route 1007 (Chartiers Run Road/North Main Street) in Houston Borough, Cecil Township, and Chartiers Township

    Crews from Golden Eagle Construction Company will be performing the work.

    This work is part of a $11.9 million project for surface improvements on various locations in Washington County. The project includes milling, base repair, leveling, asphalt paving, and pavement markings. The project is anticipated to be complete in October of 2023.

    Motorists can check conditions on major roadways by visiting www.511PA.com. 511PA, which is free and available 24 hours a day, provides traffic delay warnings, weather forecasts, traffic speed information and access to more than 1,000 traffic cameras.

    511PA is also available through a smartphone application for iPhone and Android devices, by calling 5-1-1, or by following regional Twitter alerts.
