Soil Remediation Project This Week on I-80 EB in Columbia County

Montoursville, PA – Motorists are advised of a lane restriction this week on Interstate 80 eastbound in Columbia County, for a soil remediation project due to a previous crash.

On Thursday, May 1, 2025 and Friday, May 2, 2025, the contractor, Elk Environmental Services, will be performing soil remediation on Interstate 80 at mile marker 246 near the Columbia County Rest Area. Work will be performed in the median. Motorists traveling Interstate 80 eastbound can expect the left (passing) lane to be restricted. Work will be performed between the hours of 9:00 AM and 2:00 PM, weather pending.

Motorists can expect delays are and urged to watch for slow moving traffic and construction vehicles entering and exiting the roadway; and should drive with caution in the area.
