Montoursville, PA – Motorists are advised of a daytime road closure next week on Market Street (Route 61) in the City of Sunbury and Upper Augusta Township, Northumberland County, for a pipe replacement project.
On Monday, April 21, 2025, Route 61 will be closed between Eleventh Street (Route 4012) in the City of Sunbury and Black Mill Road (Route 4009) in Upper Augusta Township, while a Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) maintenance crew replaces a cross pipe. Work includes milling of the roadway, removal of the deteriorated cross pipe, installation of the new pipe, backfilling, and paving.
A detour using Eleventh Street and Black Mill Road, will be in place while work is being performed. Work will be performed between the hours of 7:00 AM and 5:00 PM, weather permitting.
Motorists should be alert, slow down, expect delays in travel, and drive with caution.
